About our financing
Funded Experts provides revenue-based advances (sometimes called merchant cash advances) directly to small businesses. We are the direct funder—we underwrite, approve, and fund every transaction ourselves. This is commercial financing, not a loan. There is no fixed interest rate, no monthly payment schedule, and no maturity date in the traditional sense.
Each offer specifies a factor rate (for example, 1.11 to 1.499) applied to the funded amount. The total repayment amount equals the funded amount multiplied by the factor rate. For example, a $100,000 advance at a 1.35 factor rate means a total repayment of $135,000.
Repayment is made through a fixed percentage of your daily or weekly business revenue (a "remittance") until the total repayment amount is satisfied. The term is estimated (typically 3 to 36 months) based on your revenue trends, but the actual duration depends on your future revenue. There is no prepayment penalty or discount for early repayment—you simply repay the fixed total amount.
The factor rate is not an interest rate and cannot be directly compared to an APR. The effective cost depends on how quickly your business generates revenue. We encourage you to review the total repayment amount and estimated term carefully before accepting any offer.
State disclosures
Funded Experts is licensed or registered as required in the states where we operate. Commercial financing disclosure laws vary by state. Below are key state-specific disclosures:
California: Offers comply with the California Commercial Financing Disclosure Law (SB 1235). We are licensed by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) under the California Financing Law (CFL) where applicable. APR is not used for factor-rate products; the total cost is expressed as a factor rate and total repayment amount.
New York: Offers comply with the New York Commercial Financing Disclosure Law (NYFBL). We are registered with the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) where required. The disclosure includes the total repayment amount, factor rate, estimated term, and payment frequency.
Utah: Offers comply with the Utah Commercial Financing Registration and Disclosure Act. We are registered with the Utah Department of Commerce, Division of Consumer Protection.
Virginia: Offers comply with the Virginia Commercial Financing Disclosure Law. We are registered with the Virginia State Corporation Commission where required.
Georgia, Florida, Connecticut, Texas, and other states: Offers comply with applicable state commercial financing disclosure requirements. If your business is located in a state with specific disclosure requirements, the offer will include the required disclosures for that state.
This list is not exhaustive. If you have questions about licensing or disclosures in your state, please contact us.
Credit and identity checks
Applying does not involve a credit check. We underwrite your application from the details you enter and the bank statements you upload. No consumer credit report is pulled at the application stage.
When you accept an offer, you authorize us to verify that the information you provided is true. That includes verifying your identity and your business, a background check, and a soft credit inquiry. A soft inquiry does not affect your credit score. We do not check your credit when you apply.
Your Social Security Number (SSN) and Employer Identification Number (EIN) are collected only after you accept an offer, solely for identity verification, background check, and soft credit inquiry. They are stored encrypted and accessed only by authorized staff on explicit request, which is logged.
