Who we are
Funded Experts, 99 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005.
What we collect
Application details you enter: name, phone, business name and address, industry, requested amount, monthly revenue, time in business, ownership share, self-reported credit score, and your description of how you will use the funds.
What you type in the business address field, as you type it: it is sent through our servers to an address-lookup provider (LocationIQ) so we can suggest matching addresses, together with a rough area (a region roughly 70 miles around the approximate location derived from your IP address) so nearby addresses are listed first. We do not send that provider your IP address, name, or any other application detail.
Questions you type into the question assistant on our Ask a Question page: the question is processed on our hosting provider's (Cloudflare) AI service to find and write an answer from the content of this website, and we keep the question and the answer so our team can review and improve the answers. We do not link a question to an account, and we do not store your IP address with it (only a scrambled value derived from it, used to limit misuse). Please do not include personal or account details in a question.
Progress as you fill in the application form, saved as you type (before you submit), so you can resume where you left off and so our team can help if you get stuck.
Bank statements you upload, and the figures we extract from them to underwrite your application. Statements are sent to a document-processing provider for extraction and deleted from that provider once processed.
When you accept an offer: your SSN and EIN, used to verify your identity and business. They are stored encrypted and shown to authorized staff only on explicit request, which is logged.
When you accept an offer: the results of a background check and a soft credit inquiry, used to confirm the information you provided. A soft inquiry does not affect your credit score. We do not check your credit when you apply.
Technical information from your browser: IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, screen size, and time zone.
If you apply through a partner (broker) link: which partner referred you. That partner can see your application status and progress, but not your SSN, EIN, or the values you type.
If a broker referred you, they can optionally prefill parts of your application for you, such as your contact and business details. You review and can change everything before you submit.
How we use it
Underwriting: We use your application details and bank statements to assess your eligibility and determine the terms of any financing offer.
Address suggestions: We use what you type in the business address field, and your approximate location, only to suggest complete addresses for you to pick from.
Identity verification: After you accept an offer, we use your SSN and EIN to verify your identity and your business through a background check and soft credit inquiry.
Servicing: If your application is funded, we use your information to administer the financing, including payment processing and account management.
Fraud prevention: We use device information, IP address, and approximate location to detect and prevent fraudulent applications.
Communications: We use your contact information to send updates about your application, account, and any financing agreement. We do not send marketing communications without your consent.
Legal obligations: We may disclose your information when required by law, regulation, court order, or government request. We will send the absolute minimum amount of information required.
Analytics and improvement: We use aggregated, de-identified data only to make our site easier to use.
Who we share it with
Service providers: We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including: cloud hosting (Cloudflare), email delivery (Resend), address lookup (LocationIQ, for address suggestions as you type), document processing (for bank statement extraction), identity verification and background check providers, and consumer reporting agencies (for soft credit inquiries). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the specified purpose.
Referring partners: If a broker referred you, they can see your application status and progress, but never your SSN, EIN, bank statements, or the specific values you enter.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or government requests.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to the same privacy commitments.
How long we keep it
Progress data from applications that are never tied to an email address is deleted after 14 days. Other application-progress data is deleted after a retention period set by our team, currently 90 days. Our team may change this period.
Questions asked of the question assistant are kept for 90 days.
Submitted applications (including all entered data and uploaded bank statements) are retained for a minimum of 12 months after the application decision, consistent with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and Regulation B (12 CFR § 1002.12) record retention requirements for business credit.
Bank statements and extracted financial data are retained for the same period as the associated application.
For funded deals: all application data, verification records, financing agreements, and payment records are retained for at least 7 years after the final payment, or longer as required by applicable law or regulation.
SSN and EIN: Retained for the duration of the funded deal plus 7 years, stored encrypted with access logging.
Partner referral data: Retained for the duration of the partner relationship plus 3 years.
You may request deletion of your data at any time. For declined applicants, self-serve deletion is available from your dashboard. For funded deals, we are required to retain certain records by law; we will delete what we can and inform you of what must be retained.
Your choices and rights
