What defined the year

Banks pulled back, and cash-flow lending filled the gap

Bank originations to small businesses fell again this year as collateral and documentation requirements tightened. Most of the owners who came to us in 2025 had already been declined somewhere else. Underwriting on deposits instead of collateral is what let us say yes to eight out of ten of them.

Contractors waited longer to get paid

Progress payments and retainage on commercial jobs stretched to ninety days on average. Short lines of credit that bridge the gap between mobilization and the first draw were our fastest-growing product with trades businesses.

Owners stopped waiting for the bank branch

Once you can read a bank statement digitally, most of the delay in lending disappears. Two thirds of our 2025 clients had a decision within three hours of sending statements, and funding followed within a day.

Consolidation became the conversation

More owners arrived carrying two or three stacked advances. Rolling those into a single payment at a lower blended cost was often the most valuable thing we did for them, and it is now the first thing our underwriters check for.
