Who this applies to
This policy covers brokers and investors who sign up as Funded Experts partners. If you are applying for funding for your own business, see the merchant privacy policy.
Who we are
Funded Experts, 99 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005.
What we collect
From the partner form: your name, company email, phone number, and your role. Brokers also create a password, which we store only in hashed form. Investors can include a message, and no account is created for them.
The IP address you sign up from, and when you agreed to our Terms of Service and this policy.
When you sign in: the IP address and the device and browser type you sign in from.
For brokers, research from public sources to verify you and your firm: the content of your firm's website, the registration age of its domain, whether your email domain accepts mail, and public web results about your professional background. We may use this to write a short summary of your firm for your partner profile.
When you send an applicant an invite link, any application details you choose to prefill, such as their name, contact and business details, requested amount, and revenue. The applicant reviews and can change them before submitting.
How we use it
Vetting and approving partners: We use the information you provide and public research to verify that you and your firm are legitimate businesses operating in the commercial financing industry.
Running your account: For brokers, we use your credentials to provide access to the partner dashboard, where you can track referred applicants, send invite links, and manage your profile.
Attributing referred applicants to you: When an applicant starts an application through your invite link, we associate that application with your partner account so you can monitor their progress.
Fraud prevention and security: We use IP address, device information, and sign-in patterns to detect and prevent unauthorized access and fraudulent partner sign-ups.
Communications: We use your contact information to send account updates, platform announcements, and occasional industry-relevant communications. You may opt out of non-essential communications.
Legal obligations: We may disclose your information when required by law, regulation, court order, or government request.
What you can see about applicants
For applicants who start through your invite link, you can see their application status (e.g., started, submitted, under review, offer sent, accepted, declined) and how far they have progressed through the application steps. You never see their SSN, EIN, bank statements, or the specific values they type.
Who we share it with
Service providers: We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including: cloud hosting (Cloudflare), email delivery (Resend), web search and website-scraping providers (for broker research), and AI processing providers (used to analyze public research and generate firm summaries). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the specified purpose.
Applicants you refer: When you send an invite link, the applicant sees that the invitation came from you or your firm.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or government requests.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to the same privacy commitments.
How long we keep it
Partner accounts: Retained for the duration of the partner relationship plus 3 years after the account is closed or becomes inactive.
Investor messages (from VC sign-ups that create no account): Retained for 2 years from receipt.
Broker research results: Retained for the duration of the partner relationship plus 2 years. Public-source research may be refreshed periodically; prior versions are overwritten.
Invite link data and prefilled application details: Linked to the referred applicant's application record and retained per the merchant privacy policy retention schedule.
Sign-in logs and security data: Retained for 12 months for security and fraud prevention purposes.
Your choices and rights
Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, including research results and your partner profile.
Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information in your partner profile.
Deletion: You may request closure of your partner account and deletion of your data. Research results derived from public sources will be deleted; the underlying public sources remain publicly available. Investor messages are deleted upon request.
